FULANI Size & Material:8x10 (archival paper) Inspired by the myths ofAbout the Artwork Fulani is a digital collage comprised of a traditional Dan mask (Liberia, Cte d'Ivoire), headwrap, and Fulani earrings (primarily Nigeria, Guinea, Mali). The Dan mask (specifically "Dean gle") represents an androgynous ideal of beauty with its full lips, almond eyes, a strong nose. The term Gle" is used to refer to masks in Dan culture but also to the spiritual world, which can only be accessed through the donning of these masks
