Domaine Ponsot Charmes Chambertin Cuvee des Merles 2016 Red 95+ Points | The Wine92 94 Points Vinous, Stephen Tanzer (just two barrels made, from 50 year old vines in Mazoyres Chambertin): Dark red with ruby tones. Deep, soil driven aromas of dark raspberry, minerals and violet, plus a sexy gamey nuance. Wonderfully fine grained and concentrated, conveying strong smoky soil tones and an impression of sweetness. This strong, serious vin de terroir finishes gripping and long, with harmonious ripe tannins.
