The apatite fluoresces yellow orange with 254nm short wave UV light. The calcite in the biotite calcite matrix fluoresces pink under 254nm short wave UV. PLEASE NOTE: This specimen only fluoresces with 254nm, short wave ultraviolet light. A filtered, high quality lamp is ESSENTIAL. Most multi function, inexpensive UV lights, that claim to be short
